FAQ

I understand you may be new to this Web site and you might also have a lot of questions you want answered. Consider this your resource for all things relevant. If you can’t find what you are looking for, ask.

Where are you located?

The studio address is 1038 Aquidneck Ave, Middletown RI 02842 (2nd floor, suite 6), but through social media and modern communication methods, my reach is global. Demographics are just geography. If my words resonate with you, you are vibing on this site, you feel a connection with me or my work, or are simply compelled to reach out, please do so. All of my info is over on my contact page.

Beginning in early November 2023, you can also find me in my new, membership-based group on Patreon. Lots of exclusive online content over there and it’s a great place to be for people who are looking for more creativity, community, and connection. Make time for you…on your own time.

What kinds of services do you provide?

I am a multi-passionate entrepreneur, so my services vary greatly. I am an artist, a photographer, a writer, the family historian, an activist, a Web developer, and so much more. Primarily, you will find me running a unique and empowering art-based confidence building program for both women and children. My belief is that the world is a better place when women and children are allowed to tap into their unique gifts and their ultimate potential while exercising their innate creativity. You might come to a class or workshop or contact me to be a guest speaker at your events, run a workshop, host a memorable birthday party, or run a retreat for your group.

What can we expect if we hire you for an event or a workshop?

You can expect that I will arrive on-site with 100% of my heart and soul intact. You can expect gentle, loving instruction. You can expect for me to encourage your own introspection because I am never in a place to tell you WHAT to think, I exist to help you learn HOW to think. You can expect empathy. You can expect to learn from someone who likes to listen more than she likes to talk, because it is in the listening that we discover the most about ourselves and the people around us. You can expect to be challenged, loved, and understood. You can expect to create and learn in a safe, judgment-free environment.

What will my time in the studio consist of?

What it WILL consist of:

  • You may be presented with tools which connect you to who you are as a creative being and resources for living with more ease around your challenges.
  • You may experience healing via group discussion, interpersonal connections, art, meditations & forming a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.
  • I will offer creative support, understanding, compassion, and sisterhood to each and every soul that enters my studio.

What your time WILL NOT CONSIST of:

  • Your time with me, in a group or otherwise, will not be a substitute for a clinical therapy process.
  • Your time with me is not intended to address or solve a mental health emergency.
  • If any issues come up for you that should be handled by a licensed therapist or physician, I insist that you must attend to your health by contacting the appropriate professional immediately.

What is your refund policy?

I do not offer refunds for private events. When you hire me to facilitate your private event, you have entered into a contract with me and I have booked my calendar accordingly. Payment is our commitment to each other, and I require 50% up front and 50% ten days prior to the event. I promise to deliver everything we have agreed upon in the contract, and I typically give a little extra because I believe in making an impact.

Should we have to postpone or cancel an event due to an act of the universe (adverse weather conditions, illness, etc), credits will be given towards the re-booking of the event or the creation of a new event.

When signing up for one of my classes or workshops, I always recommend reading the fine print first. Refund policies can vary depending on location. All of my classes require an up-front investment of time, money, and love on my part. If you sign up, I view that as an implied commitment of your time. I understand that sometimes, life throws up a curveball and we need to back out of even our most cherished commitments at the last minute. Should *unavoidable or *unfortunate life events (*sudden illness, adverse weather, etc) prevent you from attending, please contact me to see if it’s possible to issue a credit for a future event (sometimes it is, and sometimes, due to the nature of the project and the pre-class investment, it is not). There will be no cash refunds.

There are NO REFUNDS for the multi-day summer Seaside Retreats. Every registrant is expected to research and purchase the travel insurance that fits their needs so that they can get reimbursed for their expenses from a third party should an emergency arise.

I do not cancel very often, but if I have to cancel or postpone an event due to low attendance or because I have fallen ill, I will offer a full refund.

Do I have to be an artist to take one of your classes?

The short answer is no, absolutely not—detailed instruction, delivered with compassion, is always given. The long answer is that I don’t want you to miss out on a potentially life-altering and soul-awakening opportunity because you have put a label on yourself (or allowed others to do it for you). When in doubt, try that thing that makes you nervous, step out of the box, and live life to the fullest! Doing scary things enriches your life in ways you never knew possible.

What are your qualifications?

I  am a self-taught artist and business woman and I am incredibly proud of that. It’s no small feat to completely reinvent yourself and dive headlong into a vast pool of knowledge. My biggest qualifications are my unwavering passion, my desire to make the world a better place, my willingness to share my gifts and knowledge with the people I touch, my ability to connect with those people on a deep, profound level, and my staunch commitment to my own personal growth and self-discovery. The assorted certifications I hold, the graduations from some prestigious training and coaching courses, and my college degree — that stuff  is just gravy.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes!!  If you are interested in a gift certificate for any Self Esteem Through Art programs or products, simply purchase them here! Also, what a great gift to give someone—so, kudos to you!

My Promise To You

I wake up every day committed to serving people in whatever way I can. I am a seeker. I am a dreamer. I am authentic. My desire is to help people LEARN BETTER so they can BE BETTER and in turn DO BETTER. As far as I am concerned, that puts me way ahead of the curve and distances me from most competition.
