You’ve been force fed a bunch of lies, my friend! NONE of that is actually true and we’re here to challenge your belief system. Part of the problem is that somewhere along the line, you were probably told that the OUTCOME is what matters. You kept an eye towards perfection because you thought that’s what mattered—and since perfection never seemed attainable, you stopped trying altogether.

Kindred, it’s not the outcome that matters at all. IT’S THE PROCESS! The process is where joy comes from. The process is where self-discovery comes from and where our unique forms of self-expression take root. The process provides vital nourishment for our mental and emotional health. The process is how we work through the messy middle and come out on the other side.

And, guess what?

ALL ART IS ART. Even if it’s ugly. Even if it’s messy and misunderstood. Even if what you had in your head and in your heart didn’t quite come out on the canvas the way you envisioned.

ANYONE WHO MAKES ART IS AN ARTIST. Even if you just make a scribble. Even if you just slap some paint around from time to time. Even if you don’t think what you’re doing is considered art because some pretentious snoot told you it wasn’t (*boo and a big thumbs down to them).
