About The Retreat

From mid-June to late-May each year, four phenomenally gifted teachers are diligently working behind the scenes to curate memorable and meaningful retreats that attract women from across the United States. The instructors come from vastly different cultural, professional, and creative backgrounds, yet they effortlessly weave their knowledge and experiences together to create weekends that are cohesive, cathartic, and unique. By women, for women! It’s been our way since day one!

The Gift of Time and Space

This year’s retreat is going to focus broadly on the concepts of growth, strength, peace, and harmony. More specifically, we’ll be utilizing the beautifully curated classes, symbolism and creativity, and the expertise of each teacher to delve into the peeling back of our layers, engage with the unique cores of our beings, and reflect on the symbolic unfurlings that have led us to this point. This weekend is going to be the richest of experiences and so good for the soul!

Friday

In the spirit of mixing things up and keeping things fresh and new, Michaela Butterworth is going to ring in the retreat with a full-day offering centered around the ease, joy, and fluidity of monoprinting. We’ve never seen anyone who creates like Michaela—her use of color, layers, and textures is truly unparalleled! Michaela’s class will lay the groundwork for all of the amazing content to follow. We are literally pinching ourselves that we get to learn from Michaela for an entire day…what a treat!

Saturday

We are overjoyed to announce that, for the first time ever, Jenn Pipe will be putting her apron on and teaching a class during the heart of the weekend! Kimberly McClure and she are going to wow you with a day that revolves beautifully around the symbolic existence of layers (in art and in life). Jenn and Kimberly may have been separated at birth! They both see art as an extension of self and draw significant inspiration from the ocean and the natural world around them. Having them share the stage on Saturday, so to speak, will result in a day to remember!

Sunday

Many of you know Wendy Aspinall as a stitch-focused, fabric-based artist. But, there is so much more to Wendy than what you’re familiar with—she’s an accomplished digital artist, a mixed-media maven, and an all-around artistic badass! This year, she is going to bring Michaela’s projects full-circle and knock your socks off with her layered compilation. We can’t think of a more perfect way to bring our art practices back to center and round out this year’s retreat.

Testimonials

★★★★★

"I will tell my family and friends how much I enjoyed meeting everyone, how therapeutic all of the projects were, and that I really enjoyed creating all of the art we made. I will definitely be back for more of the atmosphere, people, and projects."

"My expectations before arriving were to relax, have fun, make some art, make new connections, rekindle last year's relationships, bond with my mom, eat good food, and enjoy beach time and sunsets. I did ALL of that and more! I had a wonderful time and hope to be back next year. "

"Jenn, today you said (about Kimberly), 'In a place that doesn't always feel like home, this friendship feels like home. And for that, I'm grateful.' That is how I feel about YOU, your company, your classes, and this retreat! With all of my heart—thank you!"

About the Instructors

Kimberly McClure Instructor 2025

Kimberly McClure

“I was determined. I believed in my wildness. And I won that ‘Wildest Christmas Stocking’ contest in my 2nd grade art class. I knew freedom. I didn’t care what people thought. I just went for it!  And then, well, life got a hold of me. Shaped, molded, and polished me. My recent dive into art-making is re-wilding me. Consistently stepping into a creative-flow-state paints my life with color, joy, and texture!”

Jenn Pipe Instructor 2025

Jenn Pipe

“I am a multi-faceted, complex, ever-emerging work in progress. Nothing helps me peel back the layers quite like my creativity practice. During times when I’ve been unable to articulate my thoughts, putting pen to paper helps me find my voice. When the world seems devoid of color, joy, and peace, I turn to the art practices that help me adopt a more strikingly kaleidoscopic perspective. Regardless of what life throws at me, creativity is my friend, my confidante, my steadfast companion.”

“The lifestyle of an artist is a journey of evolution. Each of us is comprised of many unique aspects and layers. During this journey of self-discovery and digging deep, I’ve come to realize the importance of introspection, reflection, and intentional, mindful growth. My approach has become one of exploration, play, and conscious curation towards our own true north. Join me as we harness our joy, follow our flow, and use our artistic expression to achieve our true creative freedom.”

“I believe everyone has a creative side and it’s my belief that we all are connected in some way to the Natural World. Patterns in nature are repeated over and over, we just need to open our minds and hearts to see them. Join me at this year’s retreat as we embark on a journey of art and creativity. Hugs!”
