The Not So Daily Rind

Wow! I haven’t posted anything in a while. I am so sorry…life has just been spinning out of control lately. Things are chaotic in my “day job.” My oldest daughter is heading to kindergarten next week and with that comes a slew of orientations, parent-teacher meetings, and back-to-school shopping. Not to mention the attempts at trying to squirrel away some last minute family time in the waning days of summer. My youngest is also leaving her daycare and heading to preschool this fall. So, it has been school prep times two and lots of transition in our house. Soccer season is also back in full swing and anyone who is married to a varsity coach knows what that means.
Also, I am heading to CKU-Boston on Thursday and I have been spending countless hours preparing for my classes, selecting and resizing photos, getting contest submissions ready, and purchasing the necessary supplies. For those of you who might not know a lot about CKU, it is a 4 day master’s workshop in scrapbooking. Great for learning new techniques, meeting the celebrities of the scrapbooking world and seeing some of the latest trends and products. It will be a blast, but it is a lot of work. To learn more about CKU, click here. If you are going to CKU, or know someone going to CKU, I would love to meet you. You could reply to this post or email me via the contact form and we could try to meet up. This might also be a good time to place your order for your own custom scrapbook from Watermelon Rind Designs. Beat the holiday rush and let me put all my newfound convention knowledge/techniques to work for you!
I also have a few watermelon photos to share. I mentioned in a previous post to send any kind of photo that had a watermelon theme. I received a new photo of a child in a really cute watermelon outfit (complete with hat) and I will post it soon. I also have a picture of my daughter in her super-cute watermelon bathing suit. AND…I was taking a little walk down memory lane as I was searching for photos for CKU and came across a shot of one of my friends with a watermelon (I have to make sure she is okay with me posting the photo on the world-wide-Web before I put it on the site). Fun stuff!
Thanks for stopping by. I will be better about posting once next week rolls around!
P.S. I am typically an at-home scrapper. It is where I work on my own books and where I fill my orders. So, venturing out for a 4 day convention is a novelty for me. I would love to hear your tips (what to pack, how to pack, how much money should I bring, etc.) – please email me!
