Block October 21 off in your calendar because you are not going to want to miss this special Double Header event featuring both Wendy Aspinall and Jenn Pipe! Some of you know Wendy from the Seaside Retreats in the summer—and she is coming up from Georgia for this special, off-season event (what a treat!). Wendy’s class will take place in the afternoon (approximately 2-5 p.m.), we’ll have a break in between, and then Jenn will teach her class in the evening (approximately 6-8:30 p.m.)

Wendy will be showing us how to make a beautiful talisman necklace that is full of symbolism. She’ll teach you how to paint, stitch, and weave and the result will be a gorgeous project that you can either keep or give as a gift. Jenn will be teaching people the special technique of transforming alcohol ink projects into truly elevated works of art with Posca pen doodles and words. In Jenn’s class, everyone will get to create their own alcohol ink background and then transform it. Both classes are for artists (and non-artists) of all levels—all materials and instruction will be provided. (*You can learn more about each class in the detailed descriptions below)

*For those people who are taking BOTH classes, we will order pizza for you and have dinner as a group in between. Space is limited to 10 participants in each class and a $30 discount is automatically given to people who sign up for both classes upon check out. **There are NO REFUNDS or transfers for this event.

Wendy’s Talisman Necklace Class:

A Talisman is an object held to act as a charm and bring good fortune into your life. In this class, I will walk you through the process of making your own Talisman Necklace, which will have your hopes and wishes for the coming years embedded into its design. We will paint our own fabrics. We will stitch and bead. We will take simple natural elements and weave them into our very own Talisman necklaces. Come ready to make this beautiful gift, which you can keep for yourself or give as a gift!

Jenn’s Elevated Alcohol Inks:

In this workshop, we are going to focus on creating large scale alcohol ink pieces. Plenty of space to play with colors and composition of alcohol inks. And plenty of space to add your custom doodles and lettering. We are going to learn how to paint with alcohol inks. AND…we are going to learn my secret for how to create first-rate doodles on your artwork. Each piece of art will be as unique as the person making it.

Take one class or take them both. Either way, you will have a lot of fun, learn new art techniques, and enjoy your time in this magical studio space!

 

Fine Print:

  • Choose one or both classes (please note the times; 2-5 p.m. & 6-8:30 p.m.). This amazing double header in the studio will take place on Saturday, October 21.
  • Advance registration is required!  A minimum of eight women in each session is needed to run each session (spread the word and bring a friend). Registration will close on October 11, or whenever class(es) sell out.
  • The studio is located at 1038 Aquidneck Ave in Middletown, RI (enter through the door on the right, 2nd floor).
  • All art materials are included in the fee.
  • You will receive a welcome email from us approximately one week before class starts with additional details. Please be sure to include your best email address when signing up (an account you check regularly).
  • Registrants are added to our email newsletter lists. You will begin to receive sporadic Self Esteem Through Art emails.
  • If you have any additional questions, please reach out to me before signing up. Once you sign up, we have entered into a contract with each other.
  • Due to the advance preparation, Wendy’s travel, and extensive materials required for this class, there will be no refunds.
