Description
February vacation’s program was a SMASH HIT, so I am doing it all over again in April! We worked on abstract collages, studied and replicated the work of Kandinsky, and worked on winter landscapes. There is nothing quite like having an artistic outlet in a safe, nurturing environment—kids need creativity to help them learn more about themselves and process the world around them, and I am happy to be able to offer this space for them. The details for the upcoming April program is as follows:
- We will meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m.
- The classes are open to ALL genders and I will be keeping the content loose and age-appropriate for most ages (*they have to be able to stay engaged for 2 hours and act appropriately in mixed groups).
- Supplies will be provided by the attendees. This helps keep costs lower and allows kids more freedom of choice. Suggested supply list is below (*more specific info about supplies will be sent to parents in early April).
- Sibling discounts are available. Please click the appropriate drop down when registering.
- Classes will take place on Zoom. Link and password will be provided closer to class.
- I need a minimum of 12 kids to run the program and I would be capping attendance at 25 children.
Suggested Supplies:
I am going to list a variety of things that could be used during our time together. Not everyone will use everything—my classes, especially in this format, tend to be pretty open-ended and I give lots of options. I am a huge proponent of authentic self-expression and I encourage the kids to demonstrate their individuality.
Please try to use what you have at home before you go out and buy all new materials. This list is not exhaustive, but it gives you an idea of the items we are most apt to use. If you have any questions about the materials, you can contact me in advance.
- an assortment of painting materials (ex; watercolors, acrylic paints, crayons, colored pencils)
- watercolor paper (or thick cardstock) or an art journal
- a canvas or two
- adhesives (ex: glue sticks, Elmer’s glue, Mod Podge, Glue Dots)
- pencils, pens, markers
- scissors, ruler
- air-dry or modeling clay (ex: sculpy, model magic, fimo clay)
- collage materials (old magazines, books, newspapers, wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift wrap, etc)
There are no refunds for this class. But, if you can find someone to take your child’s place, you can transfer the registration.
