Art Journaling 101: For Kids

$179.00$239.00

Did you know that art journaling is widely thought of as one of the quintessential approaches to stress reduction and emotional self-regulation? These visual journals become reliable tools used to work through powerful emotions, help heal after trauma or loss, and boost confidence and self-esteem. The combination of writing with art-based reflection has also been proven to improve overall physical health.

An art journal gives children the opportunity to thoughtfully and deliberately process experiences (and sometimes those big feelings that are too difficult to put into words). Those experiences could range from social challenges to academic pressure to working through abuse or divorce at home. Art journals are judgment-free spaces where children get to show up “as-is.” These journals give kids a voice and become places where children get to develop their unique modes of self-expression, problem solving, intuition, and creative abilities. Art journals remind children that we are ALL artists and help to keep their innate creative spirit flourishing—a gift that will benefit them immensely as they grow!

If you share my belief that EVERY child should have:

  • a safe place to express themselves without fear of judgment,
  • the opportunity to learn effective tools for promoting resilience, personal growth, and self-awareness,
  • and access to a fun, empowering activity that can be utilized in all phases and stages of life,

Then this after school circle will be perfect for your school-aged child (grades 3-8).

We start on Monday, November 7 and run for 4 weeks, ending on December 5 (no class on 11/21). Please read the fine print below before signing your child up for this program.

Space is limited to 12 students. Registration will close on November 1 or when class sells out.
*Class starts at 4 p.m. each week. For an additional fee, early care (from 2:45-4 p.m.) is offered for children who get out of school earlier and need a place to hang out until class starts. Please make sure to select the option when registering.
*Message me regarding sibling and Navy discounts.
