Collage With Alcohol Inks

$27.99

There are so many things you can do with your alcohol ink prints! One of my favorite things to do is to collage with them and I can’t wait to teach you how to do it, too! When I started playing with alcohol inks, I learned a lot about myself as an artist and alcohol inks helped me grow into the newest version of that artist. Less perfectionism, more pleasure. Less pressure, more play. Less worrying about the outcome, more enjoying the process.

In this class, I am going to teach you how you can combine two separate prints to create one collaged, mixed-media masterpiece! This is an all-levels class and please know I will keep it simple for you. After you learn the steps and some valuable tips and tricks, you’ll be able to create additional compilations with ease.

This incredible class will take place on December 4, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. EST. (*Class will be recorded, in the event that you can’t join live.) This is a perfect class for beginners and intermediate artists who are looking to have fun and maybe even transform their art practice.

*There are no refunds for this class. Prior to registering, please be sure you can either make it live or have the ability to watch the recording. Zoom link will be sent to your email a couple days before class. Full class description and materials list below.

You will need to come to class with a minimum of two already complete (and fully dry) alcohol ink prints. We will be using these prints in our collages.

Materials Needed:

You will need to have a few materials on hand. You will need to come to class with a minimum of two already complete (and fully dry) alcohol ink prints. We will be using these prints to create our collages. Shop small when you can, but when that isn’t possible you can purchase all supplies easily from art supply stores or Amazon.

  • Alcohol Inks (choose your preferred brand from manufacturers like Ranger, Piñata, and Copic). Use the inks to create your prints prior to class.
  • A non-porous substrate like Yupo or Nara papers. We will be using papers in this class, so please make sure your substrate is from one of these companies.
  • Alcohol Ink Blending Solution or 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (which is harder to get due to covid).
  • Two Posca Pens. At minimum, you should have both a white and a black pen in your desired thickness (I tend to use fine or ultra fine tips for most of my art)
  • A high-quality adhesive. Try Golden Soft Gel Gloss or Gel Medium, Tacky Glue, or a 3D gel medium from Prima.
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Scissors
  • Paint brush (for spreading adhesive)
  • Parchment Paper
  • Optional: Gelly Roll gel pens in your choice of colors.
  • *REMEMBER: please have two completed prints you can work from. You must be willing to cut up one print for use in your collage.

Course Info:

This class will take place LIVE on December 4 at 3:30 p.m. EST.

You will be sent a Zoom link with password at least 24 hours before the class. Please make sure you enter a working email that you check often when registering for class—the link will be sent to that email address.

If you cannot attend live, please know that I will be recording this class and will send it to you in its entirety on December 5. This will enable you to get the full classroom experience and work at your own pace.

I look forward to creating beautiful things with you!
