This next after-school series for kids in 2nd-8th grade is going to be a perfect pairing of left brain and right brain activities! Classes will be part science experiment, part brain booster, and part artistic extravaganza. Did you know that when the ARTS are incorporated into a STEM curriculum, there are measurable benefits to cognitive and emotional health? Some of the benefits are increased creativity, improved academic performance, increased motor skills, enhanced visual learning, and higher decision-making skills. These benefits positively impact all areas of a child’s life!

Each week, we will explore a new STEM concept (astrology, architecture, electricity, etc) and pair each scientific lesson with a unique and complementary art project! The addition of art helps to solidify the understanding of each new concept we discuss. Your kids will never look at art—or science—the same way again (and that’s a GOOD thing)!

Description

What the Kids Will Love:

  • Critical thinking, self-awareness, and abstract thought are huge parts of our weekly classes. They will learn the power of sharing their thoughts and their art in a supportive environment.

Fine Print:

  • This series runs on Monday from January 8-March 4 (no class on 1/15 and 2/19)
  • Class runs from 4—5:30 p.m. each week.
  • Classes take place at our studio: 1038 Aquidneck Ave in Middletown, RI (2nd floor)
  • Registration is limited to 12 children and pre-registration is required.
  • This class is open to children in 2nd—8th grade and participants from other demographic areas are welcome and encouraged to attend.
  • THE MAJORITY OF MY CLASSES CONSIST OF REPEAT ATTENDEES AND SPACES WILL GO QUICKLY. Sign up ASAP.
  • Class fee includes art materials, instruction, emotional and artistic support. And snacks. 🙂
  • Sibling and military discount available. Please contact us directly for a coupon code that can be used.
  • You will receive a welcome email from me approximately one week before class starts with additional details.
  • Registrants to my classes are added to my email newsletter list. You will begin to receive sporadic Self Esteem Through Art emails. When registering, you will also be prompted to enter an email address and phone number. Please use your BEST contact info in these fields as this is how I communicate with you for the duration of the program (and I need to be able to get a hold of you in the event of an emergency). You will receive a welcome email from me approximately one week before class starts with additional details.
  • Please help me keep the studio a safe and healthy place—do not send sick or feverish children to the studio.
  • If you have any additional questions, please reach out to me before signing up. Once you sign up, we have entered into a contract with each other.
  • We order materials in advance and make investments in your children long before they show up to the first class. As such, there are NO REFUNDS for this class. Please be sure you and your child can commit for the entirety of the series.
  • Registration closes December 30, or whenever class sells out.
