Description
Class Goals:
This will be a magical, mixed-media class with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects. Each week will be a deep dive into the magical, wizarding world of the HP series. The goal is to combine the powerful emotional intelligence benefits of HP with the artistic and creative benefits of learning new techniques, making things with your hands and heart, and stepping out of your artistic comfort zones. The class format will be engaging, interactive, collaborative, and creative.
We will be learning things such as:
- How to creatively repurpose items and transform them into something else
- The key plot points in the books that focus on friendship, choices, abilities, character, love, perseverance, darkness, and truth
- How to layer our art and create a true mixed-media piece
- How to work together collaboratively
- And much, much more!
Personal Growth Benefits:
This series has been intentionally and lovingly created with mind, heart, and soul in mind. It is going to be a feel-good experience for all!
- This class is going to be a beautiful blend of both left-brained and right-brained activities. Each week will focus on both social-emotional, cognitive, and creative activities.
- It will help children develop an even deeper appreciation for and connection to the artistic process and their inherent creativity.
- They’ll get to take transform story lines and plot points into visual art forms. Perfect for left-brain/right-brain connectivity.
- Art is an unparalleled confidence-booster! Any time the kids can learn and practice a new creative skill, it dramatically improves their self-confidence and self-esteem.
What the Kids Will Love:
- Disconnecting from stress, technology, and peer pressure while they focus on something FUN!
- The empowering, judgment-free way they are encouraged to approach not only their time in class, but their time on their artwork. Both help to increase their sense of self and foster their creative spirits.
- Developing their unique artistic style as we work on an assortment of fun, tactile, and unique projects.
- Critical thinking, self-awareness, and abstract thought are huge parts of our weekly classes. They will learn the power of sharing their thoughts and their art in a supportive environment.
- Self-discovery in a creative and judgment-free environment is so good for the soul!
