Open Studio: Create & Connect

$10.00

Join us—May 3 is our final Open Studio night of the spring! Are you looking for time and a quiet space to nurture both yourself and your creativity? Want a tranquil place to finish those projects you start but never seem to finish? Craving time to write and paint and knit and collage? Hoping for more opportunities to connect with people in a safe, judgment free environment? Once a month, take two hours JUST FOR YOU!

Gather up your projects and plan to join us for our monthly open studios! This is time for artists (and aspiring artists) to work on existing projects, start new ones, experiment with new techniques, and just be. Bring your art journals, pack up your knitting supplies, work on some slow stitching, finish up that canvas, or complete that paint-by-numbers.

Each open studio will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in our Middletown, RI location. This is a choose-your-own-adventure kind of evening. Stay for a little while or the whole two hours; join us for one or sign up for all four. No matter what you choose, it is the perfect artist’s date and will be good for your soul.

Due to limited space, advance registration is required. Please read the full description below for additional details. Can’t wait to see you in the studio!

Description

What This Is:

  • An opportunity for you to bring your projects in and work on them in a tranquil, inspiring environment.
  • A way to escape from the hustle and bustle and give yourself the gift of time and creativity
  • Dedicated time to practice and develop your creative process
  • A chance to beat the winter blues by sitting with other creatives—you’ll be inspired and you’ll feel connected
  • A way to support your emotional and mental health by doing something that stimulates those feel-good endorphins
  • An opportunity to disconnect from screens and life’s stressors
  • A way to feel a sense of accomplishment and allow yourself to exhale for a couple hours

What This Is Not:

  • This is NOT a structured class and there will not be any official instruction (although, I will be on hand to give pointers if needed)
  • This is not a time where you will be given a class kit; however, there are basic supplies you will have access to: scissors, writing instruments, adhesives, glue guns, heat tools, etc. You are asked to bring the bones of your projects with you.
  • A time to make a mess and not clean it up—we will share equal responsibility for cleaning up any messes and keeping the studio and its supplies in tip-top shape.
