Paint With Alcohol Inks

$27.99

My discovery of alcohol inks was a tipping point that changed me as an artist! All of a sudden, play was paramount and perfectionism took a back seat. I stopped worrying about the outcome and allowed myself to be mesmerized by the alchemical reactions of the inks. The colors! The vibrancy! The joy! I also began “working quick” and could churn out dozens of prints in jaw-droppingly little time—perfect for a busy entrepreneur, parent, and artist.

Then, I started to experiment with additional ways of incorporating these inks into my art practice. Once of the things I like to do is paint with the ink. Painting with the ink gives me a bit more control and allows me to better influence the outcome. So, if you are an alcohol ink artist, or someone who is just becoming familiar with this phenomenal medium, I want to teach you how to paint with alcohol inks, too.

In this live online class, I am going to teach you how to paint a simple landscape with the inks. The class will be part tutorial, part Q+A, and a whole lotta fun! Join me on November 10 at 5 p.m. EST for this amazing art class. (*Class will be recorded, in the event that you can’t join live.) This is perfect for beginners who are looking to become more familiar with this medium.

*There are no refunds for this class. Prior to registering, please be sure you can either make it live or have the ability to watch the recording. Zoom link will be sent to your email a couple days before class. Full class description and materials list below.

Description

In this class, which is perfect for beginners and intermediate users of inks, I am going to teach you how to paint a simple landscape. We’ll talk about how to set up your workspace, color choices, brush selection, application, and correcting mistakes. The end result will be a beautiful landscape straight out of your imagination!

Materials Needed:

You will need to have a few materials on hand and will want to order them in advance. Shop small when you can, but when that isn’t possible you can purchase all supplies easily from art supply stores or Amazon.

  • Alcohol Inks (choose your preferred brand from manufacturers like Ranger, Piñata, and Copic). I recommend having at least 4-5 colors of ink on hand for this class. You can find color inspiration by looking at landscape photos.
  • A non-porous substrate like Yupo or Nara papers. We will be using papers in this class, so please make sure your substrate is from one of these companies.
  • Alcohol Ink Blending Solution or 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (which is harder to get due to covid).
  • A few paintbrushes with tips in different sizes and styles.
  • A palette for your inks.

Course Info:

This class will take place LIVE on November 10 at 5 p.m. EST.

You will be sent a Zoom link with password at least 24 hours before the class. Please make sure you enter a working email that you check often when registering for class—the link will be sent to that email address.

If you cannot attend live, please know that I will be recording this class and will send it to you in its entirety on November 11. This will enable you to get the full classroom experience and work at your own pace.
