Printmaking 101: Gel Print Basics for Adults

If you are looking for a fun, no-stress, virtually foolproof creative activity, gel printing is exactly what you are looking for! You need minimal supplies, and an artistic or creative background is not necessary at all (*those who are more advanced will also have a lot of fun and be able to flex their creative muscles).

WHAT WE WILL DO: 

• I am going to introduce you to the magical world of gel printing! You will get to know the supplies and how to set up your workspace for maximum efficiency.
• I am going to walk you through the making of a variety of basic background prints. I will walk you through things like color selection and how to get rich, robust single and multi-color prints.
• We will talk about texture and will create a variety of textured prints. Some will be subtle in texture and some will be quite bold.
• I will share with you the difference between and the benefits of “the first pull” vs a “ghost print.”
• We will use a minimum of two different substrates for our printmaking.
• I will teach you what you can do with all of those prints once you have made them (and will plan to follow this class up with other classes so I can teach you these techniques in greater depth).
• * We will be using a 3″ x 5″ plate for all of our printing in this class.

• This is a one-time class. If you are interested in joining us for subsequent printmaking classes that will build on what we have already learned, please contact Jenn directly. Discounts will be available for multi-class attendees.

• The Self Esteem Through Art studio is located at 358 Woodland St, Holliston, MA (please park in the lot at #360)
• All art supplies are included in the pricing.
