ENVISION:
- The exhilaration of the clean, rejuvenating ocean air
- Your soul being soothed and nourished by the seaside setting
- Your muscles relaxing as you engage in mindful activities and deliberate movement designed to connect you to your inner rhythm and desires
- Being guided by the whispers of the undulating surf
- A feeling of being grounded, supported, and rooted in self-awareness as you soak up the beauty of your surroundings
- Immersion into the unmistakable catharsis that creativity has to offer
- The time and space to dig deep and unearth your truth
- How much you will enjoy the sweet serendipity that awaits you!
This year, we will be dividing our time between the new Self Esteem Through Art studio, a spectacular hilltop location with an almost panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean, and the ocean itself from June 9-11, 2023. This retreat will offer up a deep creative well from which you can drink, authentic moments of wisdom and wonder, mindful curiosity, and an undercurrent of peace and groundedness. We will connect deeply with our surroundings, our kindreds, and most importantly—ourselves. We will, quite literally, BE where the peace is—and we will feel it coursing through our veins.
What’s Included:
- Three days (and approximately 22 hours) of lovingly curated instruction from a variety of teachers, instructors, and practitioners from across the country. (*Thursday night with Jenn Pipe is optional and limited to 12 registrants) Our instructors have more than eight combined decades of experience in their fields. Friday and Saturday will be full days and we will conclude our weekend midday on Sunday. (a $1200 value)
- Continental breakfast will be provided on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Light refreshments will be provided during the day. (a $75+ value)
- ALL of your art materials are provided (Did you know that a large majority of art-based retreats require attendees to purchase their own art materials? We don’t). You might be asked to bring some meaningful/personal items with you to incorporate into your projects. An email will be sent to attendees roughly two weeks prior to the retreat so you have time to plan. (a $200+ value)
- A welcome gift bag full of assorted items. (value TBD)
- Access to 125 acres of private land with spectacular ocean views and plenty of space to “get lost.” (value: priceless)
- Recommendations to some of the best tourist spots and off-the-beaten path locations from lifelong locals.
- We’re working with local businesses to secure some weekend discounts for our guests. More info will be included in your welcome packets.
- There is a private Facebook group that has been created for attendees. It’s a great place to learn more about the event and the area, meet the other people in attendance, and ask questions. A link to the group is sent upon registration.
What’s NOT Included:
- Lodging. You are responsible for securing your own lodging, but we will provide recommendations for local hotels upon request. There are also a number of AirBNB and VRBO rentals in the area.
- Why don’t you provide lodging? For a number of reasons. First and foremost, Newport RI is a premier vacation and wedding destination, and hotel prices run anywhere from $250 (for budget friendly chains) to $600 per night (closer to water and event venue) on a weekend at this time of year. Adding lodging to the package would double, if not almost triple the base pricing. We have found, through many years of running events, that often times people prefer to secure their own lodging. Some want to be closer to the ocean, some want a budget experience, some want to stay out of town and bundle in trips to other parts of New England. Some want hotels with restaurants included. Some are staying longer or are traveling with spouses/families and require different accommodations. Some attendees don’t even want a hotel…they want a cushy AirBNB for their group. So, we are doing what we do best—planning a deluxe, memorable retreat weekend—and allowing people to slumber in the place that makes the most sense for them.
- Transportation. Whether you drive, fly, take public transit, or secure taxis or ride shares, you are responsible for getting yourself to and from the retreat each day. Get creative. Share the load with a friend. We will be moving back and forth between locations, so transportation is a must.
- You will have the opportunity to do lunch and dinner on your own each night so you can experience some of the local cuisine and give yourself space to unwind and process the day’s events. We will also be planning a group dinner on either Friday or Saturday evening so we can bond over a delicious meal (cost to be split by number of people in attendance).
- Guarantees about the weather. June is typically a spectacular month in New England, but we want all of our guests to come prepared. This is a rain or shine event.
- Refunds. Make sure you have read the covid policy and the refund policy (both below) in their entirety prior to signing up. It’s always in your best interest to read the fine print. We invest in you long before you even arrive at the event. As such, there are NO REFUNDS for this event—no exceptions. You are highly encouraged to secure travel insurance on your own—this will give you peace of mind in the event that you are unable to attend.
- Last year, an attendee had to cancel last minute due to a family emergency. Thankfully, she had travel insurance and was able to recoup all of her expenses! She is currently registered for this year’s retreat and is so happy she will be able to join us!

Vaccines:
Who knows where we will be with this pandemic/endemic by summer 2023 (this page was created in 2022)? We believe in science and the safety of all guests and instructors is our top priority. By now, the majority of people have been vaccinated against covid and the severity of cases is diminishing. However, we are sensitive to the fact that there will be people in attendance who have compromised immune systems or family members with compromised immune systems and our hope is that if you are attending, you have been vaccinated.
Should there be a spike in cases or any changes in covid protocols from state, local, and health officials, you will also be expected to follow those protocols while in attendance. Those who cannot comply will not be allowed onto the premises (or asked to leave) and will forfeit any and all refunds.
Cancellations and Refunds:
We understand that traveling is an investment and travel insurance for this event is HIGHLY encouraged because it is your safety net should something crop up that prevents you from attending. Planning a retreat such as this is also a significant investment of time and financial resources for us. We have invested in you in myriad ways long before you decided to register with us, hence there are no refunds for this event!
Our cancellation policy is as follows: There are no refunds. We recommend you secure travel insurance to cover lodging, transportation, and the event itself. There are countless companies that offer this service, but we have heard good things about Allianz Travel Insurance and Travelex. *Do your own research and pick a company that works best for you!
What Should You Pack?
You will receive an email approximately 15 days prior to the retreat. That email will contain all pertinent info, such as what to pack, what to expect, etc. Please make sure to provide a valid email address (that you check frequently) when registering.
Food:
We will be providing meals and snacks over the course of the weekend and will do our best to accommodate a variety of food allergies, preferences, and sensitivities. You will get a survey approximately 15 days prior to the event that will help us gather this important info. You will do lunch on your own (order take-out, pack a lunch, have UberEats deliver something to you…do whatever fits your dietary concerns and your budget). Meals are a great way to bond with other attendees if you so choose.
Any Other Questions?
If you have any remaining questions, would like lodging recommendations, or need clarification on anything prior to registering, please contact us directly.
Spaces are limited for this special retreat (12 participants on Thursday and 24 from Friday-Sunday) and registration will close by May 30. Sign up today!
