At the end of February, I remember looking at my husband after a mind-numbingly exhausting weekend of volleyball for one daughter, basketball for the other, basketball and meetings for him, and my head on a swivel and I said, “I simply can’t help but wonder if all of this is healthy for us, for our family.”
Fast forward to today and we have this pandemic, social distancing, uncertainty about the preparedness of our country, and questions about the health of our economy.
I can’t help but think that the Universe is inviting (forcing) us to reprioritize, slow down, and refocus on what *truly* matters. I honestly believe, deep in my bones, that there are beautiful, life-enhancing lessons walking right alongside the unpredictability, the inconvenience, and the tragedy—if only we are willing to open our hearts and minds enough.
We can’t control a lot in this life, but we can certainly control what we choose to see and the lens through which we view the world around us.
Maybe try to seek out some beautiful today. Even if it’s only as far as your front yard.
